- “Workers not doing job, B.C. Ferries says”
BC Ferries (BCF) spokeswoman Deb Marshall says the company does know that some crew members responsible for safely steering the Queen of the North weren’t doing their jobs properly. “I guess we can’t guarantee it won’t happen again,” she said. The TSB has confidentially distributed a penultimate draft of its report on the Queen of the North sinking. The TSB expects to release its final report in the summer of 2007, following final submissions from stakeholders. Vancouver lawyer David Varty intends to use the BC Ferries report in support of a civil lawsuit on behalf of two passengers and a possible class-action suit, because it confirms errors were made by the bridge officers and the corporation. (Globe and Mail, page S3, 2007-03-29)
