Based on a 12-month period between Aug 1, 2006 and July 31, 2007, China has for the first time surpassed Canada in selling the most exports by value to the USA, on an annual basis. Canada however, maintains its position as the largest overall trading relationship with the United States because the U.S. exports a far greater value of goods to Canada than to China.
China sold $312 billion USD worth of goods for the year ending Jul-07, versus $305 billion sold by Canada. (Source: Globe and Mail, page B1, “China outsells Canada in U.S.”)
