Airbus will test A380 in Iqaluit

A successful lobbying effort at the 2005 Paris Airshow convinced Airbus to choose Iqaluit, on Baffin Island, for cold-weather testing of the giant A380. Iqaluit is popular for such testing because of relatively dry, very cold weather and its 2,745 metre runway. The city of 6,000 expects $500,000 of economic benefits from the A380 tests.
